Ben Simmoneau TREVOSE, Pa. (CBS 3)
The Lower Merion School District is now being sued by a second student who says it spied on him through a school-issued laptop.
Jalil Hasan, a senior last year at Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, says the district took 469 webcam photographs and captured 543 screen grabs from his laptop computer, all without his knowledge. Hasan and his mother were not notified about the images until this month, when the district sent him a letter as part of its investigation into a lawsuit filed by another student, Harriton High School sophomore Blake Robbins.
"When I saw these pictures, it really freaked me out," said Jalil Hasan, who had the opportunity to view the images at district headquarters this month. "Getting pictures taken of me, invading my privacy, that's like scary because who, you know, was watching me doing what I was doing at home, was really scaring me."
"Right now I feel very violated. I feel like my privacy has been compromised," said Jalil's mother Fatima Hasan. "Every time Jalil opened it
, it was taking pictures ... pictures of him at home in his bedroom, pictures of family, of friends."

On Friday, December 18, 2009, Hasan says he misplaced his laptop. The following Monday, December 21, district officials activated the theft-tracking system... At some point that day, a teacher found Hasan's laptop and turned it into the IT office, where Hasan later claimed it.
.... the system continued to take pictures for two months, until publicity surrounding the Robbins case unfolded on February 18, 2010. That's when the district shut down the entire program. In all, it captured 1,018 images from Hasan's laptop.
