I feel sadly unrepresented in my district since my Congress person doesn't even acknowledge my letters regarding corruption in her own district. I wonder how much of this is just a show for the coming election. I figure if they don't have the resolve to fight it in their own district, they certainly aren't going to put up much of a fight in Washington where none of us can keep an eye on them.

1. Mine is.
And I believe that he is sincere.

However, the last time our families got together, he told us that DC is so corrupt, that he is becoming discouraged.

3. What it takes is resolve.
People know who the corrupt individuals are, but two things stand in their way. First, that the most corrupt are the kind of people that can set up meet and greets which result in large campaign donations; and the second, that our law enforcement agencies are intentionally steered away from investigating any of these people's illegal activities in the local areas. My guess, it's because the illegal things they are doing that make money is being steered as campaign donations to their elected officials. So, no matter how much damage they do to us little guys, no matter how much we stamp our feet or write letters, we're going to get ignored.

What's worse, you contaminate enough of the community in these political thefts and you have a network of dumb asses who go along with it through guilt or fear.

Tell me, if your congress person doesn't bother to represent you, doesn't even bother to acknowledge receipt of your letter and the local legal agencies aren't going to help, how do we fight corruption here in our own towns? Let's start with what we can control. Who in the entire United States of America would become an advocate to expose this scam if someone has something very well documented?

2. Do you have a chance to vote for a Democrat?
If so, consider yourself lucky. I just fired off an email to the Oklahoma Democratic party, expressing serious dismay that there is not ONE Democrat in the entire 4th District that is willing to represent us against Tom Fucking Cole (or the Conservative lunatic RJ Harris). The 4th encompasses a vast area with at least a million people. Fucking coward OK Democrats.
I am very pissed. But at least I should be moving next summer when I graduate, so I don't have to deal with such idiocy for much longer.

4. We finally got a dem congress person.
I don't see a difference, though I will vote for her in the hopes that she grows balls in the next term.
