And then there were 10? Former W.Va. Prosecutor Says He Has 'Concerns' About Firing By Bush Admin.
And then there were 10?

A former West Virginia federal prosecutor said Friday the White House fired him in 2005 in the middle of a corruption and vote-buying investigation but never told him why.

Karl K. "Kasey" Warner said he has "concerns" and sees parallels between himself and eight other ousted U.S. attorneys. Congress and an internal Justice Department agency are investigating whether those firings were politically motivated.

Warner told the AP that he refused to resign when the Justice Department asked him to, adding, "Next thing I know, I get a letter from the president's

So, what was Warner working on in 2005 when he was sacked? According to the AP, he won't comment on whether he was pressured by higher-ups and would not say who was being investigated when he was fired

We do, however, have a fired U.S. Attorney who was investigating some kind of corruption who sees a parallel between his case and the other purged prosecutors. Developing....

4. I'm afraid that the only impeachable offense left for a Republican president,
is interferring with white men's Second Amendment right.

There's something not right about him. He could be a ringer for the Admin. They don't say in the article why, exactly, he was let go, but it does sound like he might have been going after Dems like a good Bushie should. He may have been axed simply because he was becoming an embarrassment. He was apparently caught being unethical with regards to campaign finance, he was pressured to resign by the DOJ and he refused, saying that he worked for the President. He was then told to go by the White House. Maybe the WH didn't really want to fire him, they were just forced to under the circumstances.

So, in a ringer-type scenario, he now comes forward at the behest of Karl Rove and claims that he thinks his firing is kinda like these other guys that were fired, and gee-whiz lookey-there it turns out he was fired for being corrupt (i.e. he was fired because he got caught being corrupt). The prevailing meme right now is that the fired attorneys were fired for not participating in the "voter fraud" plot (i.e. they were fired for not being corrupt); so here's a guy who (let's assume) was being a bad boy and was fired for it, which neatly provides a counter example for Republicans to use in refuting the charge.

Sound's pretty "Rovian," doesn't it?

7. WRONG > NOT a US Attorney, a USA district office prosecutor, TIMING ???
That's down the food chain a good bit in a USA office, under the AsstUSAs.

Of course, a thorough investigation of all hirings and firings since the
day Ashcroft had Monica Goodling drap the boobs of justice is in order.

There were others dismissed, prosecutors in the District of Northern Texas, and the USA was moved to a judgeship around the same time:

"Two US Attorneys that appeared connected to the criminal investigation of Novation, LLC have died and three more in the Ft Worth office of the US Department of Justice with antitrust expertise have been dismissed.
97. The Ft. Worth US Attorney’s office has been at the epicenter of where civil antitrust actions by manufacturers foreclosed from group purchasing organization distribution systems have been litigated and is believed to have been the center of effort behind the government’s criminal investigation of hospital supply relationships.
98. On October 18, 2004 Leonard Senerote, A former U.S. Army Special Forces officer who was an expert in complex securities cases and an antitrust trial attorney, Michael Uhl and Michael Snipes, veteran prosecutors with expertise in white collar fraud and corruption were announced as separating from the Ft. Worth Office of the US Attorney."

TIMING??? US Attorney Firing: Voter Fraud, Medicare Fraud, WHICH IS IT ???

Where was this whiner long ago?? Convenient timing to reinforce the "voter fraud" defense.

The Public Corruption track: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=831278&mesg_id=831278

The Medicare Fraud track "involved 30 U.S. attorneys' offices": http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=853813&mesg_id=853813

"eleven states were involved in litigation....The fraud investigation involved 30 U.S. attorneys' offices,
22 FBI field offices, inspectors general from the Health and Human Service Department and the Office of Personnel
Management, Defense Department investigators and state fraud units...."

Do the MATH. Was Carol Lam investigating voter fraud? NO

So-called "voter fraud" was a real track of activity, but is it the only one
to focus on when investigating the US attorney firings? NO!! emphatically.

However, if that could be accomplished, it would make some Rs very happy!!
