This deja vu shit is depressing
I saw Panetta this morning on This Week. Both he and the host acknowledged the FACT that the 2007 National Intelligence Estimate stated that Tehran had abandoned its nuclear weapons program in 2003.

Then they went right on with "The Narrative:" Iran is indeed seeking the Bomb! We need tougher sanctions! The Israelis might preemptively attack if we fail to act!

Jesus! It was like getting punted back in time eight years! The only difference is that, today, Dis(information)neyland is under new management!

1. This is about empire and power
not reality.

Fortunately, the U.S. is losing support around the globe. We're losing control of South America.

3. If I was Iran,
and observed what has happened to my neighbors (Iraq & Afghanistan),
I would want a BOMB too.

The hostile occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan has helped radicalize Iran.
Completely understandable.

7. THAT was one of the BIGGEST blunders in Foreign Policy....

EVER!

Unless your intention is to radicalize a region, and escalate tensions prior to a call for an invasion and occupation.
THEN it makes sense on a GeoPolitical level,
but it was Psychotic in the Extreme on a Humanitarian level.

6. Absolutely!
You've got Israel with dozens of nukes (at least!), 150,000+ troops from Israel's satellite to your east and west, and Learned Hands in both countries rattling sabers in your direction.

You'd be crazy NOT to want atomic weapons!
