However, since compartmentalization discipline would segregate all gusher threads to this hypothetical sub forum, perhaps it's more trouble than what it's worth.

It's different from 9/11 because that forum is about the unresolved conspiracy cloud that hangs over that day's events. With the BP Oil Gusher we know exactly who's responsible and accountable.
