Parent brawl erupts at kindergarten graduation
(06-24) 06:21 PDT Victorville, Calif. (AP) --

Brawling parents interrupted a Southern California kindergarten graduation ceremony.

School officials placed Puesta del Sol Elementary in desert Victorville on lockdown Wednesday morning after a fight broke out among a group of parents.

San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Karen Hunt says witnesses told deputies several mothers were involved in a verbal argument and it got physical in a field near the ceremony. Several men then jumped into the fray and the incident turned into a brawl.

I had no idea there was such a thing as kindergarten graduation - what exactly is being celebrated?

22. It's a part of the whole feelgood routine
Kids self-esteem will be damaged if they aren't given awards all the time.

Drives me nuts.

4. Don't rush them
They still have the elementary to JH ceremony and then the JH to HS ceremony to destroy.

13. Optimist
With fine parenting like this, high school graduation may not be in the cards for these children.

In any case, I sent the link to my brother. He's a defense attorney one county over. Maybe he can nab some new clients.

33. Of course not and I didn't mean to imply that
I was just curious if it was something to do with the kids (i.e. how dare your kid do such and such to mine) or purely an adult thing (like "stop sleeping with my husband, you bitch")

It's really just low, base, curiosity on my part, nothing more.
