He was always General Petraeus or David Petraeus.

Now, suddenly, he's "Dave" to all the media?

Are we softening his image? What's up with the sudden familiarity and with "Dave"?

I heard this on noozradio, on the radionooz on a nonnooze station, and just now, on my teevee. Each a different nooz organization. Each calling him Dave?

Nuh uh .... that's no coincidence. I have no clue what it means, but it means something.
