2. I heard the interview on NPR
Fresh Air ran it on 6/10.

I have to say that it was one of the most infuriating, horrifying tales I've ever heard, and I'm from western PA so the filmmaker is semi-local. Thanks for posting the heads-up; I'll definitely be watching.

4. I couldn't find that link!
The Guy mentioned that this was Cheney'd doing, aka Haliburton.

5. I can't remember the details exactly, but...
There was a part in which he described Haliburton's wheeling-and-dealing in order to avoid being regulated.

"If you don't regulate us too hard," said HB, "we promise to stop using that super-toxic diesel fuel in our frac mixture."

So Haliburton escaped regulatory oversight, and soon thereafter it was revealed that (obviously) they never stopped using diesel.

I wouldn't be surprised if the regulatory agency were forbidden to regulate Haliburton--because of the agreement--even though Haliburton directly violated it.

3. Here is a link to the website for Gasland
Seems that they are redoing the site so right now there is not much there, but you have to watch the video to see what this film will show.

http://www.gaslandthemovie.com/

Everyone should see this documentary, even if you don't live on the Marcellus Shale formation. There is a link here to material if you want to have a house party to view the film. "Fracking" (hydrofracturing) is running amok right now in PA, where the laws are VERY industry friendly. Be informed. And thanks for posting this.

7. Horrifying and disgusting, as I expected it would be
The sickening, shyster-esque disregard for small people simply proves that corporations are opportunistic parasites.

Not that this is news to any of us here, of course. Still, the documentary is well worth watching, if only for the flaming tap-water scenes.

8. Can the energy industry be any more evil?
Do they just happen to come upon soulless, conscienceless people to do their bidding or do they have to breed them?

11. The smug, self-important attitudes shown in the interview and before the committee
made me want to vomit. Hardly unique to this particular bunch of sociopathic CEOs, of course, but when such arrogance is displayed so proudly, it disgusts me.

10. The director was interviewed by Jon Stewart last night.
They showed a man lighting his faucet on fire... singed his arm!:wow:

It's on HBO-2 Tomorrow Night at 8pm. I got the TiVo set! It's right before a Hung marathon.:P
