About BP's $20 Billion dollar escrow account....
Edited on Wed Jun-16-10 12:40 PM by Junkdrawer
I would like to remind everyone that Exxon's $5 Billion dollar court lost was settled 20 years later for 10 cents on the dollar.

I'll wait to see how much money actually goes into escrow and how much comes out and goes to victims before I consider it a victory. To date, BP has spent WAY more on PR than victim compensation. Throwing around large numbers with "details to be settled later" makes me wary.

2. Pardon me, but...
Throwing around large numbers with "details to be settled later" makes me weary.

Do you mean "wary?" Because I'm wary of any kind of dollar amount being discussed right now. If BP can agree to one set of terms, can it be held responsible if future conditions worsen dramatically to the point where BP's original "obligation" seems like peanuts?

I'm also "weary" about this whole catastrophe.
