Is Alvin Greene faking it ? or is he really slow ? he has a degree in political science
i know this is wiki but it says

<Greene graduated from Manning High School in 1995 and received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of South Carolina in 2000.<6><7> He served as an intelligence specialist and a unit supply specialist in the U.S. Army<8> and has served in the Air Force and Army national guards. He has received the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Greene received an honorable but involuntary discharge from the Army in 2009 and has been unemployed since.<8>>

if the above is true, even if he is not up to being a candidate for political office he would still answer better than he has. maybe the guy has problems from his years in the military. in which case they are wrongly exploiting him. but could he be faking it also ? if he is getting paid to do it ?

2. Some interviews with Army colleagues
have suggested that he was an idiot in the Army, and that was related to his discharge.

I don't think he's faking being an idiot. But he is being fed everything he says and he is telling lies.

And anyone can get a degree from USC. :P

So, I don't think he is faking anything.

4. An Oscar? Seriously, this "politician" is saying "no comment."
I have NEVER heard a politician say that. "No comment???" I find that very strange! He is not a movie star!

Also, a politician never answers YES or NO!

Perhaps he doesn't process audio audial information well.

I haven't seen any interviews, since I still have analog TV with no digital converter, so I'm just guessing.

10. I think he's seriously mentally impaired.
Either that, or he's a guy of average to low intelligence who's been paid well to be where he is, shut up and say as little as possible. But either way, there's very little light in there. And the University of South Carolina, if it actually gave him a degree, should be sued for malpractice.

18. Shyness can be mistaken for the lack of intelligence.
I've turned into a complete idiot when the camera was turned on me, and I have been before the media before and did some public speaking.

the other alternative: he might not be up for the job.

20. His dad was apparently a local politician, well liked, very active, etc
for years, at least according to a local state newspaper article that was linked to from DU. I can't remember all of what it said, but I am going to dig deeper into his dad's background.

22. If all the info that was provided is correct, I doubt his strange manner has anything to do with
his time in the military. He doesn't have any of the ribbons or medals that you get for going to Iraq or Afghanistan. Looks like he was in Korea and that is about it. The involuntary but honorable discharge is a nice way to get rid of someone who has done nothing wrong and wants to stay, but is a liability to the force.

The going the enlisted route after having a college degree is also a little different. While you see it a bit, it does not happen as often as it did in the past. The Army is also very big about turning some of its better NCO's into officers, if you already have a college degree is even easier for them to do it. So the facts seem to lead to the conclusion that Greene was viewed by the Air Force and the Army as a sub-standard performer and was pushed out the door.
