My hun used to be in that field.

He actually spoke to a VA career counselor last week who is very stoked to get him in touch with...people, I don't know....

Of course, the guy left for vacation the day after, didn't say anything about that.

So Mr Splanchnik has a lot of ideas on rig inspections -- he knows an AWFUL lot -- with no one to talk to
(and he's desperately in need of a job -- other than mowing lawns)

Does ANYONE here have any contacts?
(yes, I'm desperate for him to find something commensurate with his skills and knowledge)

1. Ask over at The Oil Drum
http://www.theoildrum.com/

There are some oil industry guys over there that might have contacts. If nothing else, he could start making some contacts.

5. Thanks!!!!! I will
:)

He is exactly the kind of inspector they need. Deep water experience on rigs for many many years (500 feet-- Welding underwater!). And, most of all, exceptional integrity.

Got injured a long time ago, but he knows what needs to be done...

this karma of his has GOT to change!

That's encouraging! I'm tellin' ya, the industry, no wait, make that WE need him (and people like him) now!

He never brags, he's very quiet and humble (too humble IMnotveryHO ), but he was enjoying telling me that back when he was diving and a supervisor, living on these rigs for 3 months at a time out in Africa and all, everyone called him the "HMFIC". Head Muthafucka In Charge.

:D

(I'm sure he WILL enjoy it, though I had a look and my eyes glazed over.... :P )

oh hey, Welcome to DU by the way :hi:
