he will know the circumference of a circle.

4. I didn't see the KO interview. Was this Greene's Katie Couric moment?
Not-ready-for-primetime?

7. Greene makes Sarah Palin look like an intellectual
I am baffled as to how this guy won. Was there an organized effort to throw votes in his direction?

17. There are calls for investigations
South Carolina is an open primary state, so one might suspect that there were a lot of Republicans crossing over and voting for Greene since their man, DeMint Julip, had everything sowed up. Nevertheless, Greene, with no organization, no publicity, no money and a criminal charge outstanding against him, took 60% of the vote. That's an awful lot of Republicans voting for Greene. If there is any evidence of a GOP conspiracy to game the system, it wasn't discussed by either KO or RM tonight.

So it makes no sense that Greene could have won. No one could have known who he was. If there was a GOP conspiracy, it would have had to have had some publicity -- some of this would had to have been done in broad daylight. There is no other way to do it. You can't tell that many voters to cross party lines and vote for an unknown without somebody seeing it.

The best thing that could be looked at is that there is a $10,000 filing fee to run for the US Senate in South Carolina. Greene is unemployed. So, somebody had to have given him to money just to get on the ballot.

2. Seriously
I am probably one of the last people around to buy into conspiracy theories but this really does make me want to do the whole :tinfoilhat: thing.

:wtf: indeed. This guy seems so clueless that it's hard to imagine him getting it together to even get himself on the ballot, much less win.

5. He couldn't even answer a question..
without his lawyer telling him the answer. I think I looked like this while wathcing... :wow:

I'm not big on conspiracies either, but maybe it's tin foil hat time, cuz there's no way this guy did any of this alone. Someone(s) put this in motion and saw it through.

KO said it was an open primary, Repugs could vote for Dems. Hmmmm....

10. It's not even just this one race in SC, either.
There were several named in the KO video.

But, you know what? I bet this gentleman can do just as well as most of the current incumbents in that august body. He's a plant? Well, how is that different than most of these people? He's not well spoken? Good, fewer empty hours of CPAN Theater.

11. I'd take him over DeMint
and most of the other Republican Senators - Vitter, McCain, Inhofe - they are all about as dumb as a box of rocks. We'll see what the folks in SC think. There would be some kind of poetic justice if he did manage to beat DeMint.

8. Now that would be something to see
but I am afraid that he will be very easy to ahem... manipulate.

Or perhaps he had a camera tongue tied moment... NAHHH, not with the lawyer behind him feeding answers.

29. I can speak to that to some extent...
The Texas Democratic Party has its own version of the Green scenario - a group of LaRouche Dems got together and got one of their own to win the Democratic primary nomination for the US House, despite her calls for Obama to be impeached. The state party has effectively washed their hands of her last time I checked.

25. The stupidness of the vote isn't the interesting part.
Voters do stupid things all the time.

How many of those stupid propositions spent ZERO dollars on advertising, never were talked about on the news, and had no visible campaign?

No, this guy is unprecedented in modern political history.

Well, it is South Carolina, so maybe "modern" isn't applicable.

31. Word of mouth my ass
No way just word of mouth alone gets you elected in a statewide/federal election, even in a smaller state like SC. Something really smells here.
