4. I remember those and have about a hundred first name relatives still in KS.
Take care--what part, if you don't mind me asking (I understand if you'd rather not say)?

7. I'm not in Kansas any more! Praise be to the flying spaghetti monster!
I moved to Portland Oregon 5 years ago and have never looked back! My fiancee did take me back for my birthday recently. Had it not been for my good friends I would have been back on a plane and headed back to Oregon the following day. What the hell took me so long to leave there I haven't a clue.

There are things I do miss. Huge home grown tomatoes, the beautiful skies, the flint hills, my friends, and yes...the thunderstorms. If you have never experienced softball sized hail and the threat of a tornado, you haven't really lived. I used to storm chase with a friend of mine that worked for a local radio station there (KFDI - a country station that had storm chaser mobile units). Wow, thats an experience!

That being said, I don't wish destruction or harm on anyone and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you there!

11. Portland: You and my Daughter.
After she graduated from KU, about 15 years ago now. I didn't want her to go, But I'd given up running her life a LONG LONG time before that.

She has her own business now Tweak Interactive http://www.tweakinteractive.com/ - look them up if you ever need anything Visual; she does it all.

....................

Very, very quiet here now.

The local radar was unavailable on the weather channel for a while, but they're up and running now, with the weather guy describing what is going on.

Here is one of our websites:

www.hormonesynergy.com

We are opening a new clinic and will need a website for that business as well. We love our hormonesynergy site, done by Rareheron Web Designs.

27. She's in Cannes for a couple of weeks for one of her film projects
but I'm sure she'll get back to website stuff soon.

She's an artist at heart and, though the heart of her business is the usability research, her work is pretty distinctive.

5. Haven't you guys already had enough?
It's been rough here in Oklahoma, as well, but you guys have really been hammered.

Stay safe and check in so we know you're OK...

I'm about sick of all this bad weather. We've had over 7 inches of rain in Tulsa this month, and more coming today and tomorrow. Water is standing everywhere, the ground is saturated.

Do you have a storm shelter you can go to?

9. AND Bush is in Greensburg today.
That's IF they allow his plane to land in Wichita, with the severe weather warnings.

God forbid he should go in Harm's Way! :sarcasm:

a bad sign.

Not a leaf stirring, no breeze or wind, no birds - unusual for Kansas.

The light isn't that funny greenish color, though, and that's a good sign.

15. The calm before the storm--as an ex-Winfielder, I know how terrifying that can be.
All the positive vibes I can muster for you all--I have lots of family still there.

That silence can be so very frightful indeed.

Just that eerie silence at this point.

The Weather Channel is warning, but not alarming; local channels are on their regular programming. Maybe the county is using it's sirens proactively these days. I'm going to put it on mute, but keep an eye on it.

I've lived with Tornados all my life and just have not been real concerned about them beyond the basics, but it seems there is more reason to be watchful these days.

You aren't all that far from me - haven't heard any sirens yet, though.

Personally, I'll be more than glad when May is over.

26. I don't see anything on the radar
just some light scattered showers, heavy stuff way down in west texas, maybe they're just testing the sirens.
