3. Because I would like to see her have prime time coverage for more discussion
of the topic, if she wants to rest I'm sure she will decline.

5. What she said was video taped and is available...look it up.
I see no reason to continue to embarras a woman of her years and acomplisments. But, to each his own.

2. Just a thought
The news media trashed and skewered and ambushed one of their own, based upon the hyped propaganda and chatter of scum sucking neocon war criminals (i.e. Ari Fleischer) and some others whose primary concern was more about a few minutes of fame and nothing to do with the USA. Tell us again Ari about the need for Americans and Iraqis to go to war and die because of WMDs in Iraq. Our worthless White House media forgot to question that too.

4. The little bit of the news I caught did not even have the full conversation...
you said it, worthless WH and media in general.

Now, I shall bow out and let those interested here come to their own conclusions.

7. Olbermann said he was going to put her in his worst list for the comments she made
but didn't do it because she apologized.

not sure if rachel made any comments about it.

15. In her last comments, she frankly sounded like a crazy person at best
and with her "back to Poland, Germany..." comment, sounded like something much worse.

i'm not sure that should get you on tv.

i admire her years of questioning skepticism but sheesh. why on earth should i get past what she said? i hate when people tell Mexicans to go back to wherever...often their families were in what we call California before mine was. why should i feel any different when someone says it about an ethnic/religious group in the Middle East?

16. And that is one reason she needs more than those couple of minutes...
in front of the media, many are tired of this always being such a one sided conversation in our media.

17. but she took those comments back
what is there to explain to defend the comments? certainly the content of the comments aren't defensible --even Helen Thomas is not defending them.

if her explanation is that she's not an anti-Semite because she has reasons for thinking Israel shouldn't exist and reasons for thinking some native born Israelis (Jewish ones) should go to a bunch of other countries, well that's not cutting it for me.

how does one explain that such a statement is okay? if she believes it, it's wrong. it's only if she doesn't that we can get into the whole "misspoke" thing.

18. I'm not defending her comment, she can talk about the settlements ...
to try and have a more balanced view in our media ... I doubt it will happen.

19. i'd rather have someone else discuss the settlement issue
i don't want someone representing my opinion against the settlements easily dismissed as an anti-semite when we could easily get someone else to effectively make the case without a credible dismissal of their comments based on a statement just a couple weeks ago.

she once was. It isn't only professional athletes who try to stay in the game too long.

20. How radio active are --
the flotilla and Helen issues? So much that both barely rated a short mention on Keith AND Racherl. :( I was very disappointed in them.

28. I have been watching --
Democray Now! and Al Jazeera since the whole thing happaned and the difference in coverage was mind-blowing, and not just on I/P coverage. I have now added them to my daily news line-up. It makes our media look even more lame/biased than ever.
