1. Sanctions and an embargo are acts of war, and this makes it almost inevitable.
Ratcheting up tensions are just another step toward conflict.

2. Nothing will prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons short --
at least nothing that is consistent with peace. Iran is an angry, rogue state. The extreme religious right in Iran has to keep stirring up the people and making them feel both fearful but powerful in order to stay in power. Sound familiar?
