I suppose the Democrats are going to continue to play this game where they fund the war for a couple of months, and then fund it again for another couple of months, and so on? Of course, according to this article, Congress will then have "the option of cutting off money after that if conditions do not improve."

How much more time must pass before they agree that conditions are not improving? What is the criteria required to conclude that progress is not being made in Iraq? Is this ever going to end?

1. I would think the daily tally of troops killed in Iraq would be proof that
conditions are not improving.

I'm sick of the games. Congress is playing with people's lives here. Just cut the funding, and say:

No more bills from Congress will be forthcoming to fund the war in Iraq, Mr. Bush. Bring the men and women home, it is over.

There. I've said it. Congress can just cut and paste that and be done with it!

NEXT!

2. I like this short term funding idea. It keeps Bush from dreaming up and funding a plan C
when the current plan B shows utter failure. This effectively gives Congress the ability to cut all funding for Bush's war when the voters plainly get on board with doing it. The voters are still a little hesitant to cut all funding for fear of it causing more deaths among the troops than plan B. The Democrats have the upper hand for now and should continue to show that they are the more rational party.
