A 2yr old, a 4yr old, a 6yr old, and an 8yr old were having a lunch conversation
with their mother. It went as follows.

"The kids were just having a lunch time discussion about whom they would marry. The 4yr old asked if it was illegal to marry her brother. I told her that she should marry someone she's not related to. Then somehow the discussion turned to whether same gender marriages were allowed. To which the 4yr old's response was, "If you love eachother, you can get married.

The 2yr old turned to me as the tie breaker and I responded with: "Sometimes boys marry boys and girls marry girls. You can marry anyone you want to."

These little people are my grandchildren. I'm so proud that their mother is raising them well. And hopefully, by the time they are old enough to marry, legally this will be so.

It does my heart good to be reminded of the purity of unspoiled youth.

Thank you!

7. Everytime I start to feel a bit of desparation at the state of the world in general,
these little ones give me a glimpse of the possible and I have to go back to trying all over again.

4. That's lovely, Skidmore . . .
have to ask (knowing how inexorable kid logic can be) - did your response 'you can marry anyone you want to' invoke a protestation from the 4-year old, since you told her she should marry someone to whom she is not related?

Sometimes I think little kids would make the very best lawyers . . .

:)

5. This was a conversation between the kids and their mother
which she passed on to me. However, knowing the 4yr old, she would have considered the issue to be closed based on what her mother said about not marrying people you are related to. She's a smart young lady that one, and a tad goofy too. That's why she's so well loved.

6. K/R...we've taught our young daughter this, as well
After all, as common as they may appear, true love & good sex are more difficult to find and sustain for many than what one may initially think.
