La. governor loses his free market religion in oil leak...from Detroit Free Press

That was then.

This is now: 11 people dead in an oil rig explosion, fragile marshlands damaged, perhaps irreparably, uncalculated millions (billions?) in lost revenue for the tourism and fishing industries, and a short-attention-span nation transfixed by a compelling image from a deep-sea camera, brown gunk billowing out from a hole in the ocean floor, things getting worse in real time.

And Bobby Jindal, governor of Louisiana, off whose coast this tragedy is centered, is singing a new song, starkly at odds with what he said last year in a speech before the Republican faithful. Now he's begging for federal "interference." He wants federal money, federal supplies, wants the feds to help create barrier islands to protect Louisiana wetlands from oil.

3. BUT HE HASN'T! He's blaming "big government!"

As idiotic as it seems he's blaming the mess on "big government" and "not having enough local control!" It burns me up to see Bobby grandstanding and promoting this TOTAL NONSENSE THAT ACTUALLY CAUSED THE SPILL IN THE FIRST PLACE while Obama is criticized for lack of theatrics.

4. I read that Jindal received $25 million from BP for cleanup, but is sitting on most of it.

He's supposedly only released three to five million of it.

6. He's probably doing that to make Obama and Feds look bad, and then he can use

it for political purposes. The repukes, even those here in the Gulf region, don't give a damn if the whole place is destroyed. All they care about is money, power, and elections. The people, the plants, the animals, and everything else can eat shit and die as far as they're concerned. He is getting orders from above to make this look as bad as possible for Obama.
