An environmentalist speaking about the common interests of the timber workers in preserving and restoring forest diversity and health, Onion News, and a variety of short (Current TV like) pieces, now something about inmate guide-dog training programs. Seems like quite a range. One had rather low quality audio, but most have been of good quality.

Not sure where it originates, but it is being repeated on Mike Webb's stream: http://stream.mikewebb.org:8001/listen.pls Might be worth bookmarking.

On edit: Here is the original stream, which will remain working even when Webb changes his stream to something else: http://www.radicalradio.org/listen.m3u

From http://www.radicalradio.org/

"Radical Radio is a non-commercial news, analysis and commentary-based alternative news radio that is comprised of an 18 - 25 hour program that is updated every 2-3 days and features current alternative news from sources like Democracy Now, Free Speech Radio News, the Shortwave Report and international Indy Media reports and mixes them with political speech from groups or personalities such as Howard Zinn, Michael Parenti, Noam Chomsky, Angela Davis and many, many others. This is peppered with music and poetry. We aim to offer the best in alternative news radio available on the web. We hope you like the taste more than the bland pablum of commercial radio, or the middle of the conservative perspective that NPR dishes out.. Stay tuned, stay informed and stir it up!"

The original stream is at http://www.radicalradio.org/listen.m3u

This would be a better link in case Mike Webb shifts his stream to come other source or resumes broadcasting his own show

They have a long and very interesting playlist.

5. Yes, thanks.
The playlist goes from George Carlin to Judi Bari and Chomsky and Hunter Thompson. Not the kinds of voices you will hear on Corpse Media

6. Say, this is a great resource!
Listening now, to a woman reading an essay (I think) about what a "sex worker" or prostitute deserves in terms of her life being of value and worth being protected by police or saved by medical personnel (as in paramedic rescue).

This is fantastic! "My life is precious." "I deserve to be safe." "I deserve respect."

She's certainly making some good points.

Plain talk, straight talk, pulling no punches and telling it like it is, clearly with no censoring of the language but I like it in this case. This is just the sort of thing people need to hear a lot more than we can hear, due to the right's dominance on the radio waves. We won't get this kind of stuff especially from the Corporate Media!

I'm bookmarking this Radical Radio station and will be listening to it a lot more to see just what goodies are proffered there for our listening enjoyment and enlightenment.

THANKS for the tip!

Recommending for visibility so more DUers can find out about this resource. This could be a real and rare little treasure, so we want to share it, right? ;)

7. Thanks for the Recommendation. Part of what left talk radio lacks is provided here.
Most shows are dominated by the "news of the day," and although that is one reason I listen, and most hosts and guests bring in the longer view, it is there is a lot that has been said once that needs to be heard again. The Zinn-Jon Stewart interview was something worth repeating, and the MLK's Riverside Church declaring that opposing the Vietnam invasion was an essential part of any attempt to seek justice in America being mixed with music was a real worthwhile reminder of what we value. And etcetera and so on. Everything from world known visionaries to unknown, on the ground, day to day activists. I am very glad to have found this resource, and hope many others will find and use it.
