The Chico Iraq Body Count Flag Memorial is finished-ceremony 11am Tues

I just got done helping with the Chico Iraq Body Count Flag Memorial and am more than truely horrified at the number of dead that are represented. I am beyond words to express my emotions about the number of people that have died for bush's lies and for monetary profit-I can't imagine the grief the Iraqi's must be going through.

END THIS WAR NOW.

There were a total of 100,000 white flags used. We used one white flag per 6 Iraqis as that is the maximum size that the Park would allow. (465'x15') along the wrought iron park fence. There was one red flag per American soldier for a total of about 3,000 red flags. No mercenaries were counted, nor were any of the casualties from the "coalition of the willing".

Originally this memorial was to be held at the Free Speech Area at Chico State, but the President of the University nixed it..... :(
We would rather have had more room for the display.

Chico is the fourth city to hold this event as it travels around the country.

I will post pics when they get emailed to me tomorrow, right now I am headed back to CHildren's Park for the 9pm-12 midnight shift.

IF/when I get any extra $$ I plan to do a memorial on my lawn. What if many more people around the country started using their yards for a memorial??? Someone said the survey flags are available at any major hardware store-100 for $5
