"On Friday, May 4th, Glenn Beck's show was the lowest rated show in all of prime time cable news..."
http://achorn.blogspot.com/2007/05/detailed-examination-of-glenn-becks-low.html

"... and was the 2nd lowest in all of cable news between 5pm and midnight.

In fact, The Glenn Beck show on Headline News is routinely among the lowest rated programs in primetime cable news.

...

Beck's competition (The Fox Report, The Situtation Room, and Hardball with Chris Matthews) garners much higher ratings then he does, and in fact The Fox Report routinely gets 4 or 5 times the viewership of The Glenn Beck Program. (It should be noted that the 7pm broadcast of Hardball with Chris Matthews is a repeat of the 5pm Hardball live broadcast.)

What does this all mean? The "Glenn Beck experiment" seems to have failed. His show premiered exactly one year ago, and his ratings are dead last in all of primetime cable news, with no signs of growth or expansion. (In fact, an argument can be made the Beck's ratings have been on the decline in recent weeks.)"

5. I stop by a bar after work sometimes where the bartender is a FOX fiend.
She knows my political views (she was going to vote for Kerry 'til she got engaged to that son of a preacher man) so she flips the station over to CNN, thinking I'm going to want to watch that. So there it is, Glenn Beck. Makes your flesh crawl. I've lately asked her just to keep it on Fox, if those are our only choices.

22. I watched it once.
Edited on Tue May-08-07 11:27 PM by krkaufman
I saw it listed in my DVR program guide, and consciously told myself it would be a somewaht masochistic choice but that I needed to watch it at least once.

Very quickly I was reminded of the talking head from 'V for Vendetta' who spewed the bile of the government. I was amazed at the degree to which Beck goes beyond even the Fox propagandists. (Though I supposed his ratings shed some light on his desperation.)

2. Maybe that is because the pond scum known as Glen Beck is unwatchable?
I wondered if CNN has ever thought of that?

shtick is lame.

Warm and fuzzy fascism, with just a hint of giddiness. Ummmm...not so much.

8. Come on Swag, Tucker boy has dismal ratings as well and they
always seem to find a place for that dweeb....

My theory, Beck and Tucker are relatives of people who own large blocks of stock in Time Warner and GE respectively and hence the ability of these two "ratings Giants", more people live in Dayton, Ohio than watch either show, still have a precious amount of cable time devoted to their rantings...

10. The SO and I went on a cruise
to the Mexican Riviera a few months back. There WAS a teevee in the teeny tiny room ---but guess who was on about 5 times a day. You guessed it. Luckily I could go touristy, tanning or drinking and didn't have to watch him!

19. And yet trying to get his sponsors to pull their ads was futile.
:grr:

I only heard back from Bigelow Tea and American Airlines. The response from Bigelow Tea was basically, "thanks for your comments." Here's the response from American Airlines:

Thank you for your email about the Glenn Beck Show and our "sponsorship" of this program. Please be assured that American Airlines does not sponsor television shows per se, but buys particular time slots on specific stations in selected geographic areas.

While we strive to buy advertising slots in programs which have demonstrated the highest standards, there are occasions when a particular offering is objectionable to some of the audience. I regret that you are offended and I have forwarded a copy of your comments to the appropriate management personnel for internal review.

We welcome the privilege of serving you and hope you will choose to travel with us in the future.

This is an "outgoing only" email address. If you 'reply' to this message by simply selecting the reply button, we will not receive your additional comments. Please assist us in providing you with a timely response to any feedback you have for us by always sending us your email messages via AA.com at http://www.aa.com/customerrelations.

Like they do OxyRush and Insannity? That would be a trifecta in the 'Lack of Corporate Integrity' department if so.

26. And yet, only people of Beck's political persuasion will be offered shows.
Olberman's show didn't start out the way it is now, and if it had, it wouldn't have been on long.

Only fascists need apply, apparently.
