Pam Gellar -- "...a centre to the victims of HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF YEARS of Jihadi wars, land enslavements, cultural annihilations, and, like you know, mass slaughter?"

SAY WHAT?!?!?!

CNN actually allowed this woman to participate in an on air debate? This is even worse than that time had a "debate" on whether or not homosexuality is a "condition" that can be "cured". Not worse in that one is less false than the other, but worse in that it was so ludicrously stupid that just thinking that somebody that dumb actually exists causes me to burst into raucous laughter for 30 second at a time. If stupidity were evil, Pam Gellar would be Mr. Burns' sun-blocking machine.

4. Found this earlier on DU...
I just wanted to draw special attention to this quote; it's honestly the most stupid thing I've ever heard uttered by a human being, and I've been on a bus with a screaming bum who sounded like he was on crystal meth.

5. The 'Upper West Side' blogger has started a 'Refuge from Islam' campaign on NYC busses.
Crazy.
____________

Pamela Geller is an Upper West Side conservablogger who is friends with Ann Coulter and once video-blogged an incredible Zionist rant while swimming in a bikini in Israel. She used to work for the New York Observer and runs a blog called Atlas Shrugs. Now she wants to help Muslims escape from Islam with a new series of ads that she paid $8,000 to put on the sides of MTA buses. They say: "Leaving Islam? Fatwa on your head? Is your family threatening you?" And then they provide a website the Muslim can visit—refugefromislam.com—and then Pamela Geller will swoop down in an American Flag bikini and machine gun away all the murderous Imams who are keeping this Muslim person in a religion that is so full of hate and repression.

6. Hey, Look Who Just Crawled Out From Under the Creaking Floorboards

"The Crypt Keeper's number one soul sister herself, Pamela Geller, making the pages of New York Daily News this morning with her bus-ad campaign against Islamization, which apparently the three-card-monte suckers who read her blog bankrolled by breaking into their piggy banks, forking over all those quarters they were squirreling away for the slot machines on their next Atlantic City day-trip.

Ms Geller will no doubt be miffed as only she can be miffed (at the top of her lungs) at having her blog characterized as "replete with attacks on Islam and unfounded claims about President Obama."

Unfounded!?! Only if you insist on trifling nuisances like evidence and a faint semblance of plausibility."

7. Always expect the clueless (CNN) To follow the flashy bullshit (Fox) selling
what ever legitimacy & integrity CNN might of had, by catering to the same uninformed idiot republicans who make up the Fox soulless audience in hopes of riches & profits by fabricating lies and stupidity instead of hard work and dignity and perhaps a just little less profits....greedy corporate bastards.

8. That's a classic CNN tactic:
Edited on Thu May-27-10 12:03 AM by Puzzler
... Fox news (Palin, or some other extremist) comes up with some RW bullshit, and then CNN amplifies it by allowing the extremists (or their views) into a debate. Thereby:

1) Muddying the waters for many viewers: does 2+2 really equal 4? Is climate change man made? etc.

2) Shifting the political discourse evermore to the right.

As the Guardian pointed out a while back, the US media seems to spend much if its time reporting on itself. Normally this would be just lazy journalism, but with fake news propagandists like Fox News, the whole "reporting on itself" becomes much more insidious. It serves the purpose of actually CREATING and CONTROLLING the news rather than actual reporting.

Palin's "death panels" are a classic example. Palin didn't dream this meme up, she was used to plant the meme. The rest was simple, the meme propagated through the MSM like a virus, and in a matter of days, virtually every Democrat was forced to address this issue.

This is one of the main reasons people like Palin and the Teahadists are useful to the GOP, even if they don't ultimately want them in power. They know that the MSM will listen to and report almost any BS that emanates from them.
