I'm tired, and my soul aches for some good news...
war(s). the gulf. unemployment. the koreas. the euro. global climate change. quagga mussels (you'll have to look that one up). the growing divide between "us and them". bailouts. deficits. unfunded pension plans. immigration. pollution. infrastructure. toyota. volcanoes. upside down mortgages. lack of civil rights for ALL...

Where does it end? When does it get better?

I'm tired...

1. When you stop believing all of the news on Internet and TV. Some of it is hype.

That helps a bit, maybe spend time with friends and family or take a break and just laugh with some co workers if you can.

I hope you feel better.

Maybe this is good news, you still have your soul and desire for better for many people if you still feel, try and share joy in your empathising if you can.

I try to not worry about the more difficult stuff.

3. The friends and family thing will probably do the trick.
My Parents are coming next month to see their gay Granddaughter graduate from high school and while they're here we're going to have a surprise 50th anniversary party for them, with lots of their old friends they lost touch with when they moved to Idaho in the 80's.

Those are going to be a few good days... then they'll go home.

Thanks for the good thoughts. I'm normally the one who props up my friends when they're down, but wow... at the moment I can't find too many things to be upbeat about.

5. That should be nice, good to hear :)
Reunions can be much fun, your parents should have a good time with that, sounds like fun :)

2. It ends when you're dead.
Better? Worse? That is what changes but life with it's good/bad parts doesn't end until you shut your eyes for the last time.

4. I don't think I'm ever going to die...
I've been in 2 dune buggies that tumbled end over end, fallen off of a motorcycle at near 100 mph, fallen asleep at the wheel a car and broke my neck... heck one time I was standing next to a limosine/van when the door closed on the jacket I was wearing and was carried for over a mile on a busy street in So. Cal. before I was able to get the attention of any of the drunk people inside.

You'll notice that none of the things I mentioned in my OP were about ME.

6. Your last comment I posted something sort of about that earlier.

I have found that secondary effects from things like what is on TV and the Internet does not intersect with my existence. In the same way it is like what is seen in the Internet TV world is not in my world.

Although there are some things missing from my world, it does not have a connection with the events seen on tv or the news, except that I enjoy the music and stories in many places. And hope some things will change for the better.

I have postulated a few possibilities, but basically primary effects seen on tv or Internet, do not have secondary effects in my real life, I ponder on that.

If events shown on TV and Internet are real, then it seems important to try and help make them better, but they do not, neither in bad or good seem to reach my life except in feeling.

I have been pondering that for years. I have even tried to create secondary events in reality from effects from TV and Internet but have not seen that effect, although the effects of real life are similar what should occur from one does not occur in the other.

It brings into question the reality of stories read on the Internet and TV on a scale that can not be disputed, and hence making purpose within that context also in question.

7. That's a bit silly.
Of course you're going to die. We all are.

I think they were. It's about all of us. Our shared experience.
