1. The Prom committee wouldn't let her bring Oprah.
I wonder if Laura will bring a disposable camera for the parking lot deflowerings...

2. Colin Powell is a shameless jackass
It is for invitations like this one why he played along with Bushco. Damn Belafonte was correct about him. What a house slave.

17. This disappoints me too
He is/was the only person in the Bush Administration who was not certifiable.

On the other hand, he (and his wife) may have been invited so the British group have somebody to converse with.

Is it wrong to hope this nice man gets a leg cramp just as he's meeting GWB? One of those one's where you just have to kick out?

5. Played for the 49ers. Is Rice his San Franciscan treat?
"Gene Washington (born January 14, 1947 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama) was a NFL player for many years who played for the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions as a wide receiver. He also played football for Stanford University. He was a member of the fraternity Delta Tau Delta, and was the first black member in the whole organization. Currently, he is the director of football operations for the NFL."

15. I'll bet he's WORKING--no wife on the list. And I'll bet it's Gregory instead of Russert because
Russert did a shitty job carrying Cheney's water and smacking down Tenet on MTP this weekend. He kept trying but he didn't lay a glove on him. So they gave the "NBC slot" to #2 in the NBC pecking order, and didn't give him a seat for his wife, even.

I still think he's the NBC default from the Bureau Chief, Timmy...because Timmy didn't bloody Tenet this weekend...

8. Interesting
The Cheney's have their straight daughter Liz and Mrs. Cheney's brother on the list what happened to Mary's invitation? May-be she can't courtsey (sp?) too well with her pregnant belly? Unless I missed it, didn't see Jenna Bush's name on the list either. May-be they were afraid she'd get too blasted?

16. I don't think so.
As I said above, I think he got the "NBC slot" and wasn't even given a ticket for his WIFE.

He's workin'....and probably sitting in Russert's seat, because Russert isn't "delivering" lately.

That's from his website in Tuscon! How much do you think he gives to the GOP every year - Ford
doing so well and all.

I saw a quote from the WH staff that the Bushes would be including lots of their personal friends, which gives me a warm feeling, in that our taxes pay for this extravaganza. If you want some laughs, google some of the names on the guest list - the ones you never heard of before.

24. This will sound radical, BUT Condi and Powell could redeem themselves.
Those two could bury the BFEE, with what they both know. Powell could bury a lot of people dating back to Nixon's Administration.

They could.
