Change we can believe in
-Privatization of public housing

-More police state crackdowns

-TARP bailouts and hiring of Goldman Sachs cronies to his economic team

-Escalation of the war in Afghanistan

-Education policies, focusing on privatization and charter schools and busting teachers' unions

-Negligence regarding BP, TransOcean, and Halliburton

-Health insurance bailout

Am I missing any of that wonderful change? :sarcasm: That was off the top of my head.

1. Gitmo and torture
Apparently no one did anything wrong during the torture years, because we're prosecuting no one.
And apparently the only problem with Gitmo is where it is so they want to buy a place in Illinois to move it. And they want to permanently establish it as a prison for people we don't actually want to put on trial.

Probably ought to throw in the other side though. The nuclear warhead reduction efforts are a very long term solution to a very old problem. And let's be honest, he's managed to increase our diplomatic influence around the world. Plus, the stimulus money was spent in a more "democratic friendly" manner than if McCain had been involved. Not sure either that there were many other significantly different solutions for the GM problem.

4. Well, looking on the bright side...
The Supreme Court is set to become more conservative!

And our oil empire occupation of Iraq is still going strong!

And the bush gangsters are still free and not even being investigated for their crimes!

And the illegal wiretapping, rendition and even now assassination orders against American citizens continues unabated!

Oh, wait. Those aren't really on the bright side, are they?

7. Transparency BLACKOUT.
The only transparency being offered is a one two way mirror -- so the government can watch and listen on citizens.

12. More drivel from Obama
Privatization of public education
Destruction of Social Security

Didn't you bother to read Paul Street's book laying out what Obama really was, or did you just simply buy the hype?

which has nothing to do with privatizing public housing, but I understand that you're not interested in facts.

32. intentional misrepresentation
Why are people knowingly spreading disinformation? That is the only way I can interpret your posts on this thread. Help me out - if I am wrong, then it should be a simple matter to clear up any confusion.

You were asked what in the actual bill specifically contradicts Lakoff's analysis. Perhaps something does. You have not made that case, however. Yet your posts here imply that you did.

These posts you are making are not discussion or opinion - and they most certainly are not "facts" - they are some sort of strategy for promoting an agenda. You insert links, and then imply that the links take us to some sort of valuable information that would be the crushing killer argument against whomever you are taunting and tormenting. They never do. What is that about?

If Lakoff was wrong in some way, and if you can demonstrate that, people would be interested in hearing what you have to say. I have to assume that if you could do that, you most certainly would. Why wouldn't you? Instead you are misleading people here and intentionally trying to deceive us. What is that about?

17. Health Care "Reform"...
that REQUIRES every American to BUY an invisible product from a For Profit Corporation that manufactures NOTHING and produces NO Wealth (value added) without a "Public" alternative.

If he had campaigned on this, he would NOT have been elected, and he and his "marketeers" KNEW that.

"If we don't fight hard enough for the things we stand for,
at some point we have to recognize that we don't really stand for them."
