4. Talking to Rand Paul for so long made her sick.
A little rest and she'll be fine. Get well soon, Rachel.

10. Me too, but if the interview with Rand Paul didn't harm her she should be okay.
I'm almost sure an intense interview with Rand Paul would be like drinking a quart of ipecac. If I interviewed him it would produce projectile puke.

I hope Rachel is okay...

I was watching him. Just kept shaking my head and saying, "slimy b@stard..."

14. Should we call the Teagaggers the "Party of Ipecac"?
Edited on Sat May-22-10 09:37 AM by AnArmyVeteran
Hell, ALL teagaggers sicken me! But amuse me at the same time. I don't know what to do :( . I guess the answer is become sick of being amused.

Watching tea gaggers is like watching dangerous, wounded animals. You (almost) want to help (because of their defects), but you know they will kill you if you do. (It's like the story of the turtle and the scorpion). It's in their nature...

15. BTW: How do you pronounce 'b@stard'? :) A long 'A' or a short one?
English was never by favorite subject in school... I loved real stuff, like natural sciences, math, geometry, physics, calculus, and anything to do with space, but then went back and earned a masters degree in filmmaking. But I used all of those things I learned when I worked at NASA...

Ask me about my 11th grade story that cracked up the entire class and teacher too :)

13. But all you have to do is avoid poisoned food!
Let the "free market" fix it. Then people who poison food will be shunned.

Don't you see how simple it all is?

17. But when we're poisoned by corporations will corporate hospitals treat us free?
Do you remember those old SNL skits where Dan Akroyd acted like a businessman selling things like broken glass to children to play with? I believe when conservatives watched that show they thought selling broken glass to toddlers was a good thing. How do conservatives become so clueless? They bring stupid to an entirely new level. I never could imagine a more stupid group of people in the world.

18. Some conservates...libertarians actually...never made it past their sophomore year in college.
You know, the year in which you read Ayn Rand? the rest of us "got real" in Junior year and that was that, but these folks are stuck in their own private time warp in terms of their intellectual maturity. The little "sun kings" in their infantile world of make believe...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK9RI6kEECI&feature=related

(apologies to Rodgers and Hammerstein)

16. Can you imagine our country with zero regulation or protectors of the public interests?
Can you say 'Chaos'! But conservatives seem incapable of thinking of the consequences of their actions.

Like little, whining children they just want their way now, unable to use reason or thought. If not for government agencies like the FDA tens of thousands of Americans would be injured or killed daily because no product bought would be made safely. We went to war because less than 3,000 people were killed and conservatives cheered on every bomb dropped and every Iraqi killed because they wanted to get even with the people who killed 3,000.

But why do conservatives believe it is okay for corporations to cause infinitely more carnage than any terrorist could do? I value the lives of each one of those who died on 9/11, but I also value the lives of all other human beings who have a right to live in a secure world and a safe country where inept, incompetent or corrupt corporations aren't exploiting or harming people by using inferior products to save a buck. But conservatives seem to believe corporations are almost 'holy' and would never do anything to harm a human being. Corporations only care about their bottom lines, and without government intervention our country would be absolute chaos. Non-braking Toyotas would be the norm instead of the exception.

And to those conservatives who constantly attack government because they 'say' government can't do anything right, then how do you like BP and its cluelessness in handling the disaster they caused? It was obvious from day one BP had no idea how to stop leaks or gushers 5,000 feet below the surface of the ocean. So why were they drilling there? They were motivated 100% by greed, one of the seven deadly sins.

And if you look at the list of the Seven Deadly Sins I believe you can attribute most, if not all of them, to BP's executives. It seems like they are prerequisites to become members of the inner circles of corporate leadership.

SEVEN DEADLY SINS

PRIDE is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity.

ENVY is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.

GLUTTONY is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.

LUST is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.

ANGER is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath.

GREED is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness.

SLOTH is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
