Look what you've done, Bluebear! When Dr. Katz the mad scientist Dr. Str8jacket turns his gamma radiation death rays on gay bars, I'll be blaming you.

but I'm not seeing it. Maybe some younger eyes will spot it http://www.energy.gov/index.htm

Self-Proclaimed ‘Homophobe’ Out of Energy Dept. Gulf Spill Team

leave a comment »

According to a Department of Energy spokesperson, Jonathan I. Katz is no longer a member of the scientific team tasked with finding solutions to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The team was put together by U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu.

Stephanie Mueller told OutQ News: “Dr. Chu has spoken with dozens of scientists and engineers as part of his work to help find solutions to stop the oil spill. Some of Professor Katz’s controversial writings have become a distraction from the critical work of addressing the oil spill. Professor Katz will no longer be involved in the Department’s efforts.”

DOE drops homophobe climate-changer denier

From press secretary Stephanie Mueller at the Department of Energy:

"Dr. Chu has spoken with dozens of scientists and engineers as part of his work to help find solutions to stop the oil spill. Some of Professor Katz's controversial writings have become a distraction from the critical work of addressing the oil spill. Professor Katz will no longer be involved in the Department's efforts."

15. It's kind of like having a DU account
except you have to find who you want to "follow" to get posts on your homepage. Once you start adding different people by searching for them you get a personalized news stream. That's kind of the quick and dirty explanation. :D http://twitter.com/
It's addictive!

18. I think I finally have to admit I'm getting old
I'm a pretty savvy computer user but I resisted Facebook for quite a while and I find myself resisting twitter in much the same way. They almost had me during the Iranian uprising, but DU takes up enough of my time. And the awful, awful oil gusher happening in the Gulf of Mexico is so horrifying, I'm not sure hearing a faster blow by blow would really help my broken heart.
