Why Sarah Palin Can't Win Over Illinois GOP'ers

Sarah Palin may be a big draw with tea-partiers, hockey moms and ultra-conservatives, but she doesn’t attract Illinois politicians.

Few Illinois GOPers plan to attend the former vice presidential candidate’s May 12 fundraiser at the Rosemont Theater.

Mark Kirk’s not going. Bill Brady’s not going. Bob Dold’s not going. And a schload of down-ticket Republicans? Not going either.

That's because Palin doesn’t play with Illinois’ moderate voters, experts say, and no candidate wants to take a chance of damaging their chance during a year when the Democrats appear wounded.

2. The worm turns (see below)
They courted anyone who hated gays. They lost everyone who doesn't.
They courted anyone who hated minorities. They lost everyone who doesn't.
They courted anyone who hated abortion rights. They lost everyone who doesn't.
They courted anyone who hated foreigners. They lost everyone who doesn't.

They created a fake grass-roots movement (Teabaggers) to spew invectives against the President and other "libruls" which turned around and embarrassed them with their racism, stupidity and call for term limits (I especially love that one).

Now they're embarrassed by Palin. Too funny!

5. The schism grows wider
In Utah, the teabaggers dumped Bennett, and are taking aim at Hatch--for not being conservative enough, and Palin is their standard-bearer. I'm sure the news from Illinois isn't sitting too well with them.
