I was a closeted for many years, but I never denounced gay people or otherwise talked shit about them. I simply wasn't ready to admit to myself that I was gay. Most of the closeted people I know are NOT self-hating homophobes- they simply aren't ready to admit they're gay, or scared to for fear of losing their jobs, children, etc...

What kills me about assholes like him is that he's so emotionally stunted that he can't bare the thought of sexually healthy and mature people living their lives and knowing themselves well enough to be happy with who they are. Everyone of us, whether we're straight or gay or bi or whatever has had sexual issues to work through. Whether it be our own orientation, or a sexual violation, or the temptation to cheat, or wanting it too much or not enough, etc. Many of us are adult enough to work through these issues and we don't use our confusion or pain over it as an excuse to hurt others.
