Has anyone seen this chain email yet?
Just received this one this morning from my sister-in-law.

THE LAW IS THE LAW!
I really love this one
This is one of the better e-mails I have received in a long time!
I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!

So Be It!

THE LAW IS THE LAW

So if the US government determines that it is against the !
law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then,
so be it.

And if that same government decides that the
"Ten Commandments"
are not to be used in or on a
government installation, then,
so be it.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a
law abiding US citizen.

I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that
smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.

I would like to think that those people have the
American public's best interests at heart.
BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?

Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His
Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and
its

employees should participate in the
Easter and Christmas
celebrations which honor the God
that our government
is eliminating from many facets of American life.

I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving &
Easter.
After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the " US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good
Friday,
Thanksgiving & Easter as
well as Sundays." After all, it's just another day.

I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives
to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After
all
it's just another day.

I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all
government offices & services would
work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime
since those would be just like any other
day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically
correct."
In fact....

I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside
for
worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that
it should be just another day....
What do you all think????

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected
officials will stop giving in to the "minority opinions"
and begin, once again, to represent the "majority"
of ALL of the American people.
SO BE IT...........

Please Dear Lord,
Give us the help needed to keep you in our country!
'Amen' and 'Amen'
Touche!

These are definitely things I never thought about but
from now on, I will be sure to question those in
government who support these changes.

At the top, it! says "I hope this makes its way around
the USA several times over!!!!!"
Let's see that it does.

1. In my little corner of the world

.....Easter always falls on a Sunday and I've never had mail delivered on ANY Sunday.

Just a note if you reply, Easter is not considered a paid holiday. Christmas is the only paid, religious holiday.

Cheers

3. Hmm...so they're saying that if they want to honor the Constitution
and recognize the separation between Chruch and State the price is for everyone to give up their vacation days and weekends?!

Yeah, whatever.

LOL

5. As someone who spent many years doing shift work
I wouldn't have minded doing away with most of those holidays, since I usually had to work on them. All it meant to me was that no stores and few restaurants were open, so I'd better have planned ahead lest my dinner be a 7-11 hotdog. The upside to it was that I got 8 floating holidays which I could use whenever I wanted. I think everyone should do that instead of mandating certain days off because of religious custom.

6. I'm sure my mother-in-law will be circulating
Any time I see a message that strarts with "I really love this one
This is one of the better e-mails I have received" I usually stop reading right there.
These people are really screwed up and want to make the whole world as screwed up as they are.

9. Curious, isn't it?
Used to get this kind of rubbish regularly from someone I never met, or at least didn't remember. Wrote horrible parodies back until I finally figured out how to block the e-mails from that address.

15. Yes, who does write these emails?
I've seen many emails like this one. They are propaganda that appeal to the prejudices of the readers. I think the original author is a professional who is paid to write them. Wouldn't it be great if someone could discover the person or organization that pays the author?

8. What do religious holidays and public prayer have to do with...
..people living a life following those religious morals they have?

When these same people accept Jewish, Muslim, Buddhism, and all religions as they do Christianity, then maybe they'll get a better understanding of what freedom of religion, and separation of church and state really means - but I certainly will not hold my breath.

Edited on Sat May-05-07 11:55 AM by notsodumbhillbilly
It's not a federal holiday, nor is Easter a federal holiday. Also remind moron that mail is never delivered on Sundays.

11. One thing atheist can point to proving their point
the phrase "one nation under God" is totally false. If there was a God he sure wouldn't have let bush be elected and he most certainly would let the democrats impeach him...don't you all agree.

13. Also, if the OP's moron friend has money with "under God"
written on it, said moron is passing counterfeit money. The phrase on money is "In God We Trust". As for "under God", the original pledge of allegiance, written by a Baptist minister in 1892, did not contain those words. They were added during the McCarthy era when the nation was obsessed with "godless commies".

12. What a piece of trash
Fifty words in, the writer somehow thinks he has proven that "we can't pray to God"

That's when I stopped reading.

14. Cancel holidays for all, my dad, brother and husband are ALWAYS working on Christmas
I'm in my 40's and only had Christmas a couple of times on Christmas. While my family members were eating out of vending machines because nothing is open (and the CEO's were too busy to make sure their employees got a meal on the road) and they delivered thousands of people safely to their families, everyone else got a holiday or at least holiday pay, overtime, or time and a half either- like most others.

I'm through apologizing for them having a job that pays just a little more than livable wage. They deserve better.

Got that Arpey?

16. You have a place to pray. It's called a church. Every town has at least 1.
The sender of the e-mail is to lazy to go to one, so he needs the government to preach sermons to him.
