Summary of Ala. oil GUSH information:
Rather than have it spread all over, I thought putting some info in one place would be helpful
to those who are interested;. Primary source is Coastal newspapers.

First, the animated spill map has gone into only "prediction" mode since May 3.
but worth a look:

Weather forecasts indicate oil will NOT hit Ala. coast within the next 72 hours, giving
planners time to prepare. Gov. Riley ( Repub. and lame duck) announced a plan to create
a line of "swing booms" that will prevent oil from entering Mobile Bay.
Mayors of nearby towns have asked Coast Guard for help in doing the same for their waterways.

10,000 volunteers have signed up along the entire coast to help with the Gush results.
The influx of government and other people are helping keep hotels and restaurants busy,
which is a boost to local economy.

U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary E. Landry was incorrect when she said Tuesday companies were required to have fire booms available for emergencies.
Federal law only "encourages" such equipment to be on hand.

And maybe bad news: BP has hired an adjustment claim service.
( I am not sure how trustworthy BP will be )
There is a good article on how the system will work, worth reading, here:
