Local boy with cancer turns into a superhero for a day
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011740342_electronboy30m.html

Ok, I've collected comics for 20 years and I'm a huge nerd/fanboy. This story choked me up.

"Erik Martin, who is living with liver cancer, has always wanted to be a superhero. On Thursday, the regional chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted him that wish with an elaborate event that involved hundreds of volunteers in Bellevue and Seattle."

"Spider-Man happens to be one of the few people who knows that Erik, too, has a secret identity — he's Electron Boy, a superhero who fights the powers of evil with light.

And Spider-Man needed Erik's help"

2. World of Warcraft sold a pet that part of the money went to them...
My friends and I were more than happy to buy it for just that reason.

8. We got to work with them ONCE
We had a kid who wanted to be a Paramedic, but due to OSHA rules...they could not in the US.

So we took the kid out on a few calls... and at the end of "his shift" I gave the kid a Paramedic Patch, one of my own, and one of my railroad tracts (rank devices)

He died three months later but we learned from parents that he was the happiest little Paramedic at school as long as he could still go.

I love them, they do great work.

11. I read about that in the paper. Great story.
Really, nice to read something that reminds you of the fundamental goodness and decency of most people.
