Degradation of the Far Right's logic and common sense over the years
When you combine 'liberal' media talking points, buzz words, right wing chain emails, etc., this is what you get.

80's: If you disagree with us, then you are a communist/socialist/Marxist.
90's: The fact that the media's not talking about all those people that Clinton had secretly killed is proof that Clinton had all those people secretly killed.
2000: If you disagree with us, then you hate baby Jesus.
2004: You're questioning the government, why do you want the terrorists to win?
2008: "(Noun) (Verb) 9/11." or "(Noun) (Verb) POW."
2010: "(Noun) SOCIALISM!"

What's it going to be in five years? Any guesses?

1. You Go Back to the 50s
and you had Bill Buckley, who despite being a full of himself, was intelligent, personable and one of the best debaters of his generation. And he operated without rancor among Yalies, who were often farther left than the average DUer.

Nowadays you have misspelled signs, tax protestors who don't even know they got a tax cut hating one of the most intelligent and charming presidents we've ever had with absolutely no grounds.

3. That's because they rely completely on propaganda now
Buckley and Goldwater could debate their ideas because they believed in a core conservative ideology. The GOP is now simply the party of opposition. Even when the Democrats oppose their own ideas, they reject them. It's impossible to compromise with people like that.

2. Shampoo, rinse, repeat
They are already using Obama's birth certificate in the same way they used Foster's suicide. I would look for a resurgence in the moral majority/christian coalition/cristian right. They will adopt a new name and sling the same bullshit.
