Norway's Stranded Prime Minister Uses iPad To Govern From U.S.
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 09:00 AM by onehandle
An enormous volcanic ash cloud has shut down air travel in Europe, canceling flights and stranding Europe-bound passengers around the world.

But thanks to the iPad, stranded Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg hasn't had any trouble.

Stoltenberg, who traveled from Oslo to the U.S. to participate in President Obama's nuclear summit, is now stuck in New York City. Stoltenberg's press secretary told CNN that the prime minister has been running his government from Apple's tablet.

A photo of Stoltenberg on the Norwegian Government's official Flickr account shows the prime minister and his iPad under the (translated) title "The prime minister is working at the airport."

7. Sorry, but a laptop is much more functional.
However, if you have to have every electronic toy on the planet, iPad qualifies.

8. An iPad doesn't get inspected by airport screeners, making your boarding faster.

You can word process, do spreadsheets, presentations on it. The things of business.

You can even design on it.

Expect to see a lot of these. 600k sold in the first three days. 4m expected in 2010. 12m+ expected in 2011.

In the first ten days the iPad's online usage was almost as much as all Android and Blackberry usage combined.

9. Yeah, the iPad has no red button
and probably no launch codes.

How can you run a nation without launch codes?

I call "bullshit".

11. how secure is an iPad?
He'd probably be more secure working Norway from a Blackberry, but then his games would not be as good.
