Freeper Thread Titled "Homo 'Day of Silence'"

Nice. Typical Freeperville - I didn't see one post admonishing the site for the use of the word "homo." And we wonder why gays are still in danger in our country???

3. Why do people think that this matters?
I know that there are some here who like to believe that DU and Free Republic are equally popular polar opposites of netroot political forums, but why give opposition free publicity and, worse, why post a link to the lair of the fascist worm???

6. There's seemingly a contest here: Who can be the most petty and dismissive.
To me, it's not even sport. When picking them apart is "too easy" I don't want to contribute to the bully-boy atmosphere. It doesn't reflect well on us all. A little ribbing is cool as well as attacking their leaders on substantive issues. But this petty shit isn't happening for me. I'm not above it ... I've just grown out of it.

7. That's a good point. There was a time, when I was younger, when this would have bothered me.
Now, it doesn't, and I'm not sure why. Obviously, if it's a topic relating to the GLBT community and freepers support it, I almost never need to know specifics - I am automatically against it.

I guess my question is more about drawing attention to a website that is frequented by racists, gaybashers, and assorted other bad types.

4. Most of the time, threads on FR are padded with subtitles that tell you how think before you click.
DU is pretty homogeneous, but we don't institutionalize groupthink like they do.

5. Haha
Many of the comments are asking for a list of the schools that are going to do this. They really want a list of EVERY SINGLE school in the United States that is going to participate in a day of silence. Who would even bother compiling such a list?
