Mitch McConnell promises to give Supreme Court nominee a fair shake:
Edited on Fri Apr-09-10 03:25 PM by Contrary1
:sarcasm:

McConnell: "Americans can expect Senate Republicans to make a sustained and vigorous case for judicial restraint and the fundamental importance of an evenhanded reading of the law."

Sen. Patrick Leahy, appealed for civility. "I hope that senators on both sides of the aisle will make this process a thoughtful and civil discourse."

Good luck with that, Sen. Leahy

8. Mitchie sucks
Literally and figuratively. Thanks for not spending money in KY DNC. We could have gotten rid of both these POS Senators.

9. McConnel stole the election in Ky
everyone who voted a straight Dem ticket - their vote did not count. You know - just some kind of weird electronic voting thing that happened, accidentally, of course.

10. Lincoln Chafee?
The pundits are already speculating as to whether Obama will select a bona fide "leftie" or a more "moderate" nominee. I'm just wondering how GOP Senators would react if one of their own alumni (albeit far to their left) was nominated, say Lincoln Chafee. He certainly has the credentials and demeanor for the job. And Republicans would have to think twice before branding him as a "judicial activist" of "far-left idealogue" or worse.
