Legislation promoting Va virtual schools signed, VA

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — Gov. Bob McDonnell has signed legislation that promotes the growth of virtual schools.

The legislation was part of the Republican governor's education agenda. It sets guidelines for virtual school programs in which students can learn online outside a traditional classroom.

The law would require the state to develop policies for approving and monitoring corporate and nonprofit online-education providers operating in more than one school division. The Department of Education also would be required to post information on its Web site about online learning opportunities.

...the privatization shit. The technophobic types will have the vapors, but with today's technology there is no reason students and teachers need to be physically face to face all the time

2. Hmmm....
I wonder how much these virtual teachers will be taught.

I take online classes but I also like being in a classroom and interacting with my professors and fellow students.

I like the part about approving and monitoring corporate and nonprofit online-education providers. I have heard so many horror stories about University of Phoenix and other companies like them.
