Mo. lt. gov. plans lawsuit over health care bill
Associated Press - April 7, 2010 10:14 PM ET

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder says he'll seek private funding for his own legal challenge to the new federal health care law.

Kinder said Wednesday that he will file the lawsuit later this month in a Missouri federal court in his official capacity. A spokesman says the suit will focus on issues dealing with seniors and the solvency of Medicare. He wouldn't provide additional details.

No fundraising goals have been set.

The Republican lieutenant governor plans his own lawsuit instead of joining one filed by more than a dozen states challenging the new federal health care law. That suit claims the U.S. government can't mandate that citizens have health insurance or force states to carry out the new law without reimbursing them for costs.

Only problem: Kinder doesn't have a license to practice law: http://www.firedupmissouri.com/content/was-kinder-stripped-his-law-license-or-did-he-surrender-it#comments

1. Kinder is an idiot,
As is most of the Missouri state Congress this term. Thankfully we have Nixon as our governor, and thus he can limit the damage that Congress does. But these asshats are still wasting taxpayer money, and frankly breathable air.

4. He was on Fox News last night
Local Fox station played a clip this morning.

This was right after a story about a Senate bill that allows school districts to have school year round AND allow teachers to 'voluntarily' give up tenure and sign up for merit pay.

I was screaming at my TV about the merit pay sneak in bill. Then they aired the Kinder story.

I need to stop watching Fox 4.

6. Let me get this straight. Mr. Kinder is seeking private funds to
sue the Federal government in his Official capacity... Any one else see a problem here?
Aren't there rules of ethics that apply to public office holders? Or does that only apply to Democrats in Blue states?

8. If any republican governor does not sign on he will
be cut off from funds from the republican party. So we can expect they all to try. I hope to goodness it cost them a bundle and then it is thrown out of court. WHAT A LOT OF RED FACES. But then red IS their color isn't it.
