Has the Tea Party already won?
Given how Nate Silver's predictions are ridiculously accurate, shouldn't we be scared? If they hold, we're definitely losing more seats than the GOP in November and mumblings of losing the House show up from time to time.

Is our threshold for victory really no higher than retaining Senate and House?

1. It's almost a guarantee we'll lose more seats than the Repubs in the House.
Even before the tea-party movement started it was a very likely situation.

4. well
it's honestly to be expected. So many people were convinced that the dems having full power would mean everything would get fixed. That, of course, is a pretty naive way to look at it, but I'm sure that's a big factor. "that didn't work, so lets try the pubs again"

16. There are two people who know how we got here

Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have simply squandered our chance to make a difference.

Harry Reid is a gutless wonder who spends so much time trying to play nice with the Republicans, he failed to notice them cutting the legs off of his chair. Now the party of 'NO' is using Harry's own chair legs to beat all of us over the head.

Nancy Pelosi took over a full Democratic Majority in the House back in 2007 and refused to take advantage of her position of power to get our legislation through.

In 2009 we held the House, the Senate, and the Executive Branch. We should have squashed the Republicans like a bug. If we had just steam rollered the 'pukes and passed our agenda, the American people would see the Republicans for what they really are and never vote for them again.

We are going to hold both the House and the Senate. When it comes time to pick a new Speaker of the House, I think Nancy Pelosi should return to her chair and represent her constituency. Allen Grayson should be the Speaker of the House, and put the fear into the Republicans.

5. It's going to be more about progressives staying home
than about the Teahadis. This whole 'Teabagger Phenomena' is corporate smoke and mirrors. IMO, I'd say the TBs are more a danger to the GOP and might even curb GOP gains.

20. I know you're happy with your new servitude, but that is far better for them than it is for you.
There have also been a few actual crumbs tossed to the peasants.

The genius of this strategy is that you get half the people pissed for not doing anything for them and the other half are pissed for what you have done to them.

8. Them TeaDudes are GOP Pawns...owned and operated by Dick Armey of Texas
The TeaBaggers appeal is restricted to the EASILY FOOLED AND BIASED.

They will continue to reveal themselves as inept traitorous misguided citizens not to be followed....they are dangerous....

They will actually lose more ground in Nov.....it will be 3 Losses in a row....

Dems will gain 2 Senate seats 7 House Seats

The GOP has PEAKED......that was 2004....the last year of holding on to power....since then its been 2x losses.....the GOP's Bull Shit is too weak to run this Nation...

18. You are the most optimistic.
If the economy continues job growth and real financial reform passes, the Dems could minimize their losses to 2 Senate seats and a dozen house seats.

12. Thank Nancy
This country has been screaming for FINANCIAL reform - real, effective stuff, not the nonsense that comes out of the Banking Committees - and instead we get dragged through a year plus of an extremely divisive and corrupt health care non-reform corporate giveaway. Meanwhile, cities and states are going broke left and right because the financial games are allowed to continue.

13. The Only Thing They've Won Is Their Own Frustration...
Firstly, I'll care about polls when we get specific races in place later this year. After two massive victories, many in purple and red areas, the ability to pick up more seats would be quite a feat...and I am expecting to lose some, but not a lot of seats in November. No, Democrats won't lose the House or Senate despite what the rushpublicans wishfully hope for and the corporate media parrots.

The interesting number burried in many polls I see is no matter how poor an impression voters may have about Democrats, it's even worse for the rushpublicans...my bets if "none of the above" was included on a survey, it'd win. Look closely at the teabaggers and you see a mix of Paulbots...who have little loyalty to the rushpublicans along with LaRouchies and other single issue groups...all bonded together by their hate...one that is scaring more people than attracting. Each new teabagger rally draws less and less and they still haven't flexed any real electoral muscle (nope, I still contend Coakley blew that election as much as Brown won it).

So besides the Senate and House, what are you expecting to win?
