Lying on the Census form?
I still have not returned my census. I was considering maybe fudging the truth a little so that my stats are more in line with my neighbors. I make more than the median income here but I think this area needs help.

3. Fill out the Census form accurately and honestly...
While it may not seem all that important to you, in the scheme of things it is exceptionally important as to how your community will benefit from the government spending.

There is absolutely no excuse for "fudging" on the Census.

4. You're risking up to a 500 dollar fine.

U.S. Code Title 13 Chapter 7 Subchapter II § 221

(b) Whoever, when answering questions described in subsection (a) of this section, and under the conditions or circumstances described in such subsection, willfully gives any answer that is false, shall be fined not more than $500.

You might think, how are they going to find out? But, the IRS knows what your income is.

You just have to weigh whether you think you can get away with it.

8. Might brush up on what the Census is used for
and then consider why it would be useful in any manner to lie on the Census form.

Don't you remember, Obama, aka "the Chosen One" intends to use it corral all freedom loving patriots so he can make them Muslin?

17. No, I am saying that what happened then happened then
and today is today. If you want to hold out on the census that is your perception of reality and I'm glad I don't share it.

Forge on.

18. nope...just pointing out that the census info
isn't always put to a good use. i am thankful that this census form is not as hideously long as the one from the 70's or 80' (taxing my memory here but they seemed very long). i am glad you perceive the gov't now as a benign entity with all good intentions...being naive has it's benefits, i suppose.

9. The Census form asks nothing about income
So what are you going to fudge – your age? how many people live in the house? their ages? yours or their names? yours or their ethnicity?

10. Thank you.. I keep wondering why I got a different census
than everyone else. I see all this complaining about the government wanting to know how many times you go to the bathroom and shit like that. My census asked me how many people in my house, their names, ages, and ethnicity. Thats it.

13. Some people get what's called the American Community Survey (used to be the "long form").
It does indeed ask about income, among other things. And, response is required by law according to census.gov.
