The author ("The Bridge") is being interviewed by LAUER on the Today show. LAUER: "You say B.O. has been HELPED more than hindered by RACE, right?"
Uh...
The dude says that his rationale for the book is to EXAMINE DEEPLY a president while he's still sitting, that someday B.O. will be written about in a grand CARO type bio of LBJ, but it's NEW to do something NOW!1 What a concept!1
Yet, from Day 1 we were told that Shrub was OFF LIMITS for all examination, no finger-pointing, no digging. Yaas, it was SO cute for him to bluster like a 3 year old, "Don't mess with Texas," the state anti-littering advertising slogan coined by a Democratic ad-man. Certainly not have his record TRASHED the way DUKAKIS's was!1 GORE was lectured by the media yakkers that he'd better not be aggressive during the campaign, that Shrub was just too cute and sensitive and MODERATE--and such a Christian!1 Although his miserable record as a Weak-Governor-system governor was documented by Molly IVINS, the national media somehow acted like he was a blank slate, or at most, "a moderate." Then it was, "He's not on the ballot in '02 & '06 & '08. And the ever lovely, "No looking backward, just forward."
