"If Fox News had existed throughout history"-funny, but sadly, all too true!
I came across this link on a friend's FB account and just had to share. While it may be funny, it really is, sadly enough, all too true.

http://img.moonbuggy.org/if-fox-news-had-existed-throughout-history/

I'm sorry, techno-dummy that I am, I don't yet know how to snip images from links like this (hey, I'm an old gal in my mid-forties, what can I say?)

And, as a member of the May 4 Task Force while a student at Kent, I can definitely attest to the truth of how that one is spun, because that's the way it's been spun for forty years now, truth and facts be damned.

2. I'd never heard of that site before, but now
I'm certainly going to take a closer look! I've often wondered how Fox would have handled reporting the events during the civil rights movement and I think their take on it is pretty close to what it would have likely been.

9. STFU, Sincerely, your RAPIST???
I don't know where the hell the Faux "News" angle comes in, but this is just an example of the rape culture-- "women are skanks, rape is my right and it's funny"

Not to be snarky or anything, but just WTF are you talking about? I see nothing in the link that even resembles what you're talking about.

13. Huh??? is right! That's what I came across when I went to the link
Edited on Thu Apr-01-10 07:14 PM by BlancheSplanchnik
It went to a random, "rate-these-pics" thing. The one I pasted here is the first one that opened for me.

After that I clicked on "next pic" and was confronted with some truly sickening ones. Also run of the mill "weird crap".

14. I didn't see any pic you posted here.
The only thing that shows up on my screen is a big black box with img. moonbuggy on it. And the only thing that comes up whenever I click on the link is the Fox News spin pictures and captions. So I'm really clueless as to what you're talking about. I'm not really interested in any of the other stuff, frankly.

29. only guess I can make is that something must have gone wrong
with my connection.

I'm pretty tech-retarded, so all I can tell you is, I clicked on the link, got moonbuggy. Clicked on "moonbuggy" and got moonbuggy's random wierd pics site, including the one I pasted here.

There were some there that ----- well, you're doing the right thing, not checking it out.

12. It's funny, they run these "Fox Flashback" ads on radio
Where they'll play clips from Roosevelt and Kennedy and Nixon and all these news events that happened AGES before Fox News was a glimmer in Murdoch's eye, but the implication is that "we were there covering the big events from history."

Wow. Then again, that somehow doesn't surprise me. Nothing does when it comes to them.

17. well, Fox has been around as a brand for ages (20th Century Fox)
So maybe the old version had a newsreel division or something, but it's hardly the same company.

23. Yeah, that sounds about what you'd expect.
Might be interesting to see how 18th century Tory newspapers reported the Boston Tea Party -- that'd be the closest comparison.

28. Yep, historically speaking, that pretty
much is the way they reported it, give or take a little. "News" really is all about spin, frankly, and so is history. Neither is ever written in stone. It all depends on the perspectives of those reporting it, those writing it and those in power. And that goes for our side as well.
