College Group Pushes Back Against Palin Speech
State Lawmaker Seeking Compensation Amount For Former VP Candidate

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― "The California State University, Stanislaus campus is in an uproar over Sarah Palin's scheduled visit to the school's 50th anniversary celebration.

Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate, is scheduled to headline a black-tie fundraiser on campus in June.

But a student group is organizing a protest and its own event in response. A professor has started a Facebook group in protest.

The foundation organizing the event, a nonprofit that raises money for the school, says the $500 tickets for the event are selling fast.

A state lawmaker on Monday asked the university foundation to provide the details of a compensation package promised to the former vice presidential candidate..."

2. Oh good..she can preach her hate there and tell them
to pull over Obama sticker cars and ask how that hopey changey thing is working.

Really really bad when a University has an ignorant hatemonger as their $500 a head speaker.

3. Oh noes! Censorship!
Mrs. Palin is being denied her constitutional right to receive six figures for a canned speech! The flag is falling! The Republic totters! Will no one save the United States? I know I haven't always believed in you, and I don't know if you're up there and can really hear me, but save us, Superman!

4. Isn't one thing to be invited to speak at a college/univeristy and another thing to hold a fund-
raising event on campus for national politics by one Party? Fund raiser? How equitable is that on a campus? More than just the students should get on this? Or is this typical of educational institutions in this country?

5. Palin has no place...
...on the property of any kind of institute of higher learning. She needs to stay in the back-country, poorly educated places that comprise "The Real America".

10. Obviously
I have a problem with the real america. I must be unpatriotic.

I have a problem with back country, poorly educated people who look at intellect as if it were a disease and would rather equip their children with guns and a bible rather than facts and empathy.
