This local douche on TV news tonight in a "how will this HCR affect you"
said he's a small business owner and he provides health insurance to all 20 of his employees and it gives him an "edge" when hiring good people to offer that.

He's pissed off, you see, because he feels HRC will allow other small business owners to afford to cover their employees now and he'll lose that "edge" now.

WTF? Who thinks like that? I find it repulsive. So his argument is that more people will be able to covered with health insurance and that messes him up. :puke:

2. ok this made me laugh
Some people, just the fact that they think like this is so effed up that you have to laugh about it. You always have some a-hole like this show up in an interview too, lol.

3. LOL, the fact that he had no embarrassment about stating it
just floors me. They do always show up in interviews, don't they? I just don't know how the cameraman or someone doesn't just say, "Dude, SERIOUSLY?"

6. I bet they become inured to it
With all the interviews they give or film they probably are just used to hearing people say crazy things.

I posted the link to this to my twitter: http://twitter.com/billthebutcher2

13. in fact most employers think like this, especially big ones
the bigger ones with more comprehensive programs (or at least the perception of more comprehensive programs) think of health care benefits as one of their selling points, and a reason why you should work for them as opposed to a small competitor.

the illusion of a stable job with the illusion of secure health care is important to many people.

14. I think this is a large part of what the Chamber of Commerce anti-HCR was about.
Plus these big companies know that if their top employees can get affordable health care on their own, that they are more likely to retire early or leave to start their own businesses creating more competition.

When I was younger the only thing that stopped me from leaving to start my own business was health insurance. I had preexisting conditions and could not qualify on my own. I was a single parent and couldn't take the risk. My daughter plans on leaving her job when she can get this insurance and just work part time. She also has preexisting conditions and no one will insure her. A friend of mine at work will be retiring as soon as she can get this insurance. She will be 59. I think a lot of a jobs will open up when this goes into effect.

The other part of the CoC campaign was that they were a front for the insurance companies.
