Is your neighbor a terrorist?
Edited on Mon Mar-15-10 07:48 PM by pokerfan
Just when you think it can't get any more Orwellian.

This is an anti-terrorism commercial currently airing in the UK. Anyone who likes their privacy, uses cash to buy stuff and doesn't socialize with his neighbors might in fact be a terrorist. There's a number you can call where you can anonymously tip off the authorities of such suspicious behavior.

3. I do have this one neighbor
that my dog, who loves everyone else on the planet, wants to chew on.

I've always suspected him...

4. Well, I'm fucked.
I love my privacy. I almost always pay with cash. I'm not big on neighborhood get togethers.

Guess it never occurred to them that it's this kind of ignorant shit that causes people to avoid their neighbors...who wants to consort with a group of dipshits sitting around speculating on the neighbors who are absent?

6. But will anyone in governent ask
why do they hate us, and why do they want to kill us? Instead of listening to the profiteering zealots that push us into more war, and towards more loss of our liberties and our Bill of Rights, and the expenditure of what is left of our treasury, why aren't we examining and correcting the situation that has led to this terrorism?

8. Nope
Anyone going down that path is branded a terrorist, a terrorist sympathizer or just a person who hates America and blames it for 9/11.

Credit is good! Credit builds communities! It's Patriotic!

Anyone who doesn't use credit has GOT to be a Commie!

10. We should tax people who refuse to use credit
the same way credit companies charge people who have cards but refuse to carry a balance!

11. My husband and I refer to our neighbors as the Vampires. Shades always down. Kids never come out.
I never see the husband and wife either. Creepy people. Terrorists? Nah. Anti-social? Most definitely. The lights are only on during late at night too...

14. My cats are terrorists.
They never leave the house. They don't use credit cards. And they pretty much keep to themselves.

I kind of thought they might be up to something...

17. My cats try to kill me
by tripping me on the stairs. One of these days they will probably succeed. It's simple law of averages stuff.

Though how anyone could separate suspicious behavior from normal behavior around here is beyond me....

22. I wonder if they base this on anything but air
Was there anyone who behaved that way who eventually committed an act of terrorism? Must it throw every loner under suspicion? Was there never a sociable terrorist?
