Why should "illegal" immigrants need to pay fines

as part of a deal to become citizens. Why shouldn't that burden fall on the company that hired them either knowing or not caring that they were illegal?
I am feeling that many of these folks have paid a heavy burden already of fear and extortion and hard work. But the companies that hired them stand to skate free without consequence. Just bothers me.

1. Because they knowingly broke our laws long before they were hired. I agree companies should also

pay heavily. In fact, I think the officials of those companies should be jailed.

If no repercussions, what about all those folks who waited to come here legally? Are they fools, or what?

Ironically, a guy just arrived from the roof-maintenance company to de-moss our roof and clean the gutters, with the suspicious name of "Gerardo" and darker skin than is usually seen in this area. AND, he has an accent!!

But, unPatriotic, unAmerican, me - I didn't inquire about his "papers" or call the cops. I id offer him a cup of coffee. I hope Lou Dobbs doesn't find out!!
