3. I wonder if she's really going to try that?
Edited on Sat Mar-06-10 10:19 AM by polly7
Seems like she may get laughed out of the building ....... but then, we are talking Alberta. Maybe she's going to entertain the rich oil barons with her new stand-up routine, I didn't see it, but heard it was a flop.

5. I can't even imagine the questions they'll ask that have anything
to do with the petro business, economy, health-care, or anything but where to buy one of those bumpit things. Everything she's bragged she knows about turns out to be a lie at worst, mistaken at best. 150 - 200 dollars I guess will involve a really good meal, I hope.

6. Pamela Wallin USED to be a respected news person....
Edited on Sat Mar-06-10 11:00 AM by Spazito
but now is a con shill appointed to the Senate in 2008 by harper. To have a Senator participating in this farce is beyond embarassing and adds to my impression she is just a shill and to think I once respected her, geez.

Info on Pamela Wallin

snip

The wide-ranging career of the journalist, diplomat and entrepreneur has now spanned more than thirty years, several continents and many forums. From CBC radio to the Ottawa bureau of the Toronto Star to CTV where she hosted Canada AM, she went on to become the Ottawa bureau chief, and anchor of the CTV weekend news. And in 1992, she became the first Canadian woman to co-anchor the nightly national television newscast Prime Time News.
In 1995, Pamela founded an independent television company, Pamela Wallin Productions, through which she hosted and produced several highly successful nightly interview programs.

Pamela has fourteen Honorary Doctorates and among many other honors, she has been named to the Canadian Broadcasting Hall of Fame; she received a national Visionary Award in Canada; and was twice recognized by Queen Elizabeth II for her public service and achievements.

10. Maybe they invited her because she talks with that singsongy Canadian accent.
They're used to having to deal with Americans with Texas accents because of all their oil industry dealings. The average Calgarian has never met an American who didn't talk like Dubya the fake Texan. So maybe they think she's a novelty.

The difference is, the average Canadian doesn't also talk like fingernails on a chalkboard.

13. Sarah Palin gives speech to packed Calgary crowd
Edited on Sun Mar-07-10 05:26 AM by polly7
Palin spoke at the city's BMO Centre as part of the Fraser Institute's influential speakers program, where about 1,200 people shelled out for the talk.

LMAO when I heard her 'speech' was part of the Fraser Institute's propaganda spreading program:

The Fraser Institute - Canada's Disgrace

Every citizen of this nation should feel disgust that the Fraser Institute calls Canada home.

The Fraser Institute is dedicated to attacking publically funded health care, education and insurance. It now also is disseminating propaganda intended to minimize the effects of global warming.
