Hawaii Death Watch 2010 is interesting.
Edited on Sat Feb-27-10 04:58 PM by Drunken Irishman
It reminds me of an old skit from MAD TV where the news would freak out about the most basic conditions. KILLER BEES!

Not that this isn't important. But they're making it sound like we're counting down the final minutes of our 50th state.

But the tsunami is expected...AT ANY MOMENT!

I hear you; it's like waiting for a car or plane crash. Whatever will they say or do if nothing happens, which I hope is the case.

1. Same thing happens when a truck carrying sodium chloride crashes and they dispatch the HAZMAT
people to deal with the nearly-global emergency.

15. Just imagine the panic if it were a sodium chloride truck and a dihydrogen monoxide truck..
The combination of those two chemicals has killed thousands upon thousands of people..

2. It isn't a death watch. They had ample time for everyone to get
out of the way. The only deaths would be from idiots who didn't heed the warning.

It will be property damage, and will be something to see.

I don't understand people who are so opposed to real news and real events being seen.

Edited on Sat Feb-27-10 04:46 PM by Drunken Irishman
Horrific impending disaster!

I am not opposed to it. I'm just saying they seem to be painting a very grim image of this.

As if Hawaii is only seconds from being wiped off the map.

9. Yep. There's this guy on CNN that sounds like
he's gonna bust a gut if something bad doesn't happen soon. You can hear the desperate need for tragedy in his voice.

13. It's funny watching them build this up.
MSNBC has run this animation that shows the wave essentially going over a high-rise and flooding the entire island.

10. Tool .. Vicarious Lyrics
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUGbu6Jcrmw

Eye on the TV
'cause tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavor it happens to be

Like:
"Killed by the husband" ...
"Drowned by the ocean" ...
"Shot by his own son" ...
"She used a poison in his tea,
Then (she) kissed him goodbye"
That's my kind of story
It's no fun til someone dies.

Carnivore and voyeur
Stare at the transmittal.
Sing to the death rattle.
Don't look me at like I am a monster
Frown out your one face, but with the other (you)
Stare like a junkie into the TV
Stare like a zombie while the mother holds her child,
Watches him die,
Hands to the sky cryin "why, oh why?"

Cause I need to watch things die from a distance
Vicariously, I live while the whole world dies
You all need it too - don't lie.

(snip)

12. Please tell me that's not what the corporatemediaWhores
are calling it? I just talked to my son on Kaua'i who lives more up in the hills so he's okay but we're concerned for those living on the South and West Shores.

My friend talked to his sister on Kaua'i and she said lot's of people were buying supplies and heading for the hills from the Coastal towns. He said..Locals will go up there and party:party: and wait it out.B-)

28. Well, you can see how I wouldn't put it past them.
I called Tim when I got home from work (having found out about the Earthquake and subsequent Tsunami Warnings from customers who came in)..and he answered the phone.."Tsunami Mommy!".

I took that as a good sign right away. But, you can believe I had only one thought at work after I heard the news..Be Safe!

Thanks DI:hug:

That aside, it looks like this tsunami was exaggerated. Better safe than sorry though.
