Politicians ignore us when what we want contradicts what corporations want, its a fact. Doesn't matter if it is a virtual march or a street march.

An effective way to get them to pay attention is to unionize a few million people, and have a massive strike.

Or devote hundreds of millions to primaries from the left.


But a million citizens calling in, faxing, emailing, etc might get some response. Maybe. But its better than nothing.

13. Agreed, back in the day "marches" alone weren't any more effective.

It was the combination of marches, civil disobedience, and social disruption and other political and social action - it was the combination of all of these things that made a difference.

If you're being ignored the solution is not go, "ok well let's all go home." :) I'm not saying you disagree, I just wanted to get that off my chest.

I don't agree that a million citizens calling in matters on its own. As with all things, it takes action in every conceivably avenue so that it becomes impossible to ignore.

million citizens calling in, combined with millions of citizens in the street, combined with civil disobendience to shut down work, lock-ins, sit downs, protests ....basically people need to start being arrested before I know that its getting serious and that it might effect change.

Arm-chair activism doesn't work.
