Need a good Laugh....This letter showed up in my paper today
Here are a few reasons we are in debt

DEAR EDITOR:

Take a look at these developments:

Friday, Feb. 5 - Washington, D.C. federal employees sent home early due to snow. Actually, Obama and fellow Democrats need the votes and the federal employees are so efficient, a four-hour absence, or so, means nothing.

Saturday, Feb. 6 - Democratic National Committee holds meeting in Washington, D.C. All roads must be clear. Obama attends and speaks. Democrats need votes.

Sunday, Feb. 7. - Snowplows have all day to clear Washington streets on overtime.

Monday, Feb. 8 - Washington D.C. federal employees are told to stay home due to snow. Obama must solidify their votes. Also, re-read Feb. 5.

Tuesday, Feb. 9 - See Feb. 8

If the above actions do not deserve a weekend each year in Obama's honor, I don't know what does. Sorry federal employees, no holidays associated with this weekend.

An at-home survey of Washington federal employees probably will be taken Wednesday (today) and, if Obama support is not as high as David Axelrod wants, a stay-home Thursday, Feb. 11, could be a definite possibility.

Do you ever wonder why we are in debt?

Ray Roddewig

1. Just because the streets in DC are being cleared doesn't mean the streets in
Arlington, or Georgetown are clear. Many fed employees live outside of DC.

8. And even if they're clear, it doesn't make them safe.
If you're not responding to an emergency you got no business being on the roads. They'll kill ya.

4. I've heard conspiracy theories
~~~ from Kennedy to the moon landing, but this one from Ray requires more of a stretch than Dolly Parton's sweater.
I can't believe of all that goes on in DC, this actually drove the author to grab pen and paper, and write a letter to the Trib.
5. I take it that DC is not your local paper.
The reason the federal government is shut down is due to a large part to the subway being closed. The DC Metro closed all above ground stations on Saturday, and they really haven't been open since. The local governments have been begging people to stay off the roads and the snow plows have actually been pulled off the roads due to poor visibility, at least that is what they said today. DC does not get snow like this often, in fact, pretty soon it will be the snowiest winter in history. Some years we don't get any snow at all. o we just can't deal with it
